For more than two decades now, I have been dedicated to delivering clear, accurate, sparkling voice-over, translation and interpreting, plus additional services for authors, companies, consultancies, and brands.
Words have always fascinated me. A Colombian native, I was raised bilingually with English and Spanish, and became immersed in their respective cultures from the tender age of four. This natural and unforced interplay of peoples, cultures, and world views has motivated most of my endeavors since. The lure of translation was already patent during my school years, when books became windows through which fantastic and unlimited worlds became visible. Once nestled in those worlds, comparing versions and nuances in different languages became a passion. But I also enjoyed acting, being master of ceremonies at school, and recording radio plays with friends and family. It felt only natural to turn this burgeoning interest into a profession by delving into the Media Arts and getting a degree in Communication Studies.
A true citizen of the world, I’ve lived, worked, and studied in four different countries: Colombia, the United States, the Dominican Republic, and, ultimately, Germany—the place that became my home in 2003. For almost 10 years, I refined my marketing know-how in large corporations and start-ups. Working for ComputerWorld, an international IT publication, made me realize just how much I enjoyed translation, and became the springboard to a career in the language industry. Designing and managing a multilingual multimedia recording studio finally pointed me in the direction of my true passion.
Another decade and a half later, having added further languages, specializations, certification, and experience to the mix, I continue to offer high-quality services to customers around the world. With one foot on either side of the pond, I have a deep understanding of cross-culturalintricacies. What this means for you is that you’ll be working with someone who understands not just your culture, but that of your target customers as well—an essential skill for the interpretive effort of adapting your message to their idiom and ethos.
Trust is essential. For the credibility of your business, and for mine. Over the years, I’ve built a strong portfolio of clients who depend on me for high-quality Spanish language solutions and excellent service. Abiding by my customers’ strict non-disclosure requirements is an essential part of my code of conduct. This limits my ability to share information about past projects publicly, but references are available upon request.
