Turn a cultural moment into a global movement

100th Anniversary

In celebration of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which granted American women the right to vote, Project Suffragette is born. Together we will recognize the women leading today's Women's Rights movement.

"There is nothing complicated about ordinary equality."

Alice Paul

AT ALL LEVELS OF PRIVATE AND PUBLIC LIFE, THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH FEMALE LEADERS.

BUSINESS

Only 32 Fortune 500 companies have female CEOs. Women with full-time jobs earn $.80 for every dollar earned by a man. Approximately 20% of S&P 500 board seats are held by women; women of color are nearly invisible.

FINANCE

Only 20% of all business investment goes into women-led businesses — and it’s worse for minority women.
Women-led companies represented 4.94% of all VC deals in 2016.
In 2016, women received 2.19% of venture capital funding.

POLITICS

Less than 20% of Congress members are women.
Globally, women account for 49.7% of the population but hold only 22% of public offices.
The U.S. currently ranks 100th in the world in the percentage of women in national legislature.

SPORTS

Men receive $179 million more than women in athletic scholarships each year.
40% of athlectic participants are women yet only 6-8% of their competitions receive media coverage.
Total prize money for the Women’s World Cup is $15M compared to $576M for the Men – 40 times larger.

A bold communications platform that celebrates women’s
rights and unifies the voice of supporters, tells inspiring
stories, facilitates a dialogue arounda series of global
events, and empowers people to act and influence change.

How did the Suffragettes succeed in gaining women’s
right to vote? They got the nation to listen.
And so will WE..

"The Road Before Us
Is Shorter Than
The Road Behind Us."

Lucy Stone
